Melanie joined Shared Wellness in June 2025, bringing with her nearly four decades of experience supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) and autism. Since beginning her career in the field in 1987, she has served in a variety of roles, including Direct Support Professional (DSP), Assistant Program Specialist, HR/Benefits Assistant, and Training Coordinator. Today, she has found her professional home as Director of Training and Benefits, where she combines her passion for people with her extensive knowledge of training, direct supports, management, and employee benefits.
Throughout her career, Melanie has been guided by a strong commitment to person-centered practices and the belief that meaningful support begins by putting yourself in the shoes of those you support. She is dedicated to promoting independence, self-determination, positive approaches, and Everyday Lives principles, while consistently upholding the highest standards of professional ethics.
Known for meeting people where they are, thinking outside the box, and always being willing to lend a helping hand, Melanie strives to empower both the individuals supported by Shared Wellness and the professionals who serve them.
Outside of work, Melanie is a proud mother of one and grandmother of two. She finds peace and renewal at the beach and enjoys reading, taking walks through the city, and spending time outdoors.
