A New Chapter Begins

July at Shared Wellness

This month marks an important milestone for Shared Wellness.

As leadership passes from Dr. John Thvedt to our new CEO, Alex Nocella, we celebrate the strong foundation that has brought us here and look ahead to an exciting new chapter. While our mission remains the same, our vision for what's possible continues to grow.

Alex shares his vision for the future of Shared Wellness—building on our legacy of person-centered care while embracing innovation, expanding opportunities, and shaping what's next for the people and communities we serve.

As I step into the role of CEO, I am honored to build upon the extraordinary foundation that has made Shared Wellness the organization it is today. My vision is not to change who we are, but to help us become the strongest version of ourselves. Read More

Our first Integrated Arts & Crafts Fair celebrated creativity, connection, and self-expression, bringing artists, families, and community members together for an inspiring day. See more.

Sometimes the simplest moments create the most meaningful memories—our annual Beach Day was filled with sunshine, laughter, and connection. See More

   WHAT'S UP AT WELLNESS

We’re expanding how and when we connect.

Day + Evening Programming

Wellness now extends throughout the day, with Meaningful Day programming (Monday–Friday, 9 AM–1 PM) and evening activities designed for flexibility, connection, and community. From Self-Love groups and mindful activities to nature walks, sporting events, scavenger hunts, and Supper Club, everything is updated in one place.

From exploring love languages and practicing communication skills to creating "I Am" boards that celebrate their strengths, experiences, values, and relationships, they're building greater self-awareness, confidence, and the foundation for healthier, more meaningful connections. July is Disability Pride Month

This July, Shared Wellness proudly celebrates Disability Pride Month by honoring the strength, individuality, and contributions of people with disabilities. Throughout the month, we're sharing a blog series exploring the history of the disability rights movement, the impact of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), and the advocates whose work continues to advance accessibility, inclusion, and belonging.

Read Julia's first blog post to learn more about the history of Disability Pride Month and the movement that continues to inspire greater accessibility, dignity, and inclusion.
